JDPR announces latest additions to growing team

Strategic communications agency JDPR’s Executive Management Assistance Program (EMAP) continues to prove successful as it welcomes two returning and one new team member this fall. Isabel Matos, two-time EMAP intern, has joined the JDPR team in a full-time role as Assistant Account Executive (AAE). Jakhi Brown (Summer 2023) is back as a Level II intern and Clemson University MBA student Anas Alhassani brings international experience to the program.

Matos spent her first semester as an intern with JDPR in Fall 2022 and joined the team for a second round in Spring 2023. After earning her bachelor’s degree in media communications from Southern Wesleyan University, she is returning in a full-time capacity as JDPR’s newest AAE. In college, Matos was a member of the Warrior Women’s golf team, ran a sports and pop culture talk show, and created the social media accounts for Southern Wesleyan’s Dining Commons. In her new role as AAE, Matos will support JDPR’s communication and technology, power tool, and sports accounts in strategic planning, program management, pitching, analysis and reporting.

Brown will continue as an EMAP intern for the fall following his success during the summer semester. Brown is a senior at the University of South Carolina Upstate where he will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Arts in communication. At USC Upstate, Brown has received the Courage in Communications Scholarship award, serves on the committee for the Excellence in Teaching and Advising Award and is a member of the A.Bevy student organization.

Alhassani, originally from Yemen, is finishing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Clemson University, where he has also earned a data analytics certificate and serves as Chair of the Career Success committee for Clemson’s MBA Student Association. Alhassani graduated with his bachelor’s degree in public communication and journalism from Truman State University where he served as Executive Producer of the schools’ TV station among other organizational roles. Prior to joining JDPR, Alhassani did an internship with a global consulting firm where he worked to create a strategic plan for a leading telecommunication company.

“We have always been proud of our internship program and the growth we see in its participants,” said Drew Dezen, agency director. “To have two former interns returning at higher levels – one in a full-time position – and a highly experienced masters student joining the fold is an encouragement that we are doing something right!”

JDPR’s EMAP internship allows students to gain diverse, hands-on public relations experience while partnering with JDPR’s seasoned team of professionals. College students studying communication, marketing or related programs interested in applying for future semesters should send their resume and cover letter to Raine Riley at rainer@jdpr.com or apply at www.jdpr.com.
