Jeff Dezen Public Relations (JDPR) welcomes three new interns for summer 2022

Jeff Dezen Public Relations announces the recent addition of Grace Mills, Megan Sheets and Johnathon Smith to the marketing and communication agency’s Executive Management Assistance Program (EMAP) for summer 2022. The internship gives aspiring public relations and communication professionals the opportunity to hone their skills and build their portfolios by contributing to real-world projects for the agency’s local, regional and national clients.

“JDPR’s immersive EMAP program challenges our interns to expand their knowledge-base and perform high-level tasks for real-life clients,” said Drew Dezen, agency director of JDPR. “Our team is excited to both invest in and learn from this summer’s EMAP crew as they advance in their career development.”

Mills is a senior at Furman University double majoring in communication studies and information technology. She began her internship at JDPR after studying journalism and communications abroad in Spain. On her campus, Mills serves as the student director of Furman’s Innovation Hour, the creative director and treasurer of TedxFurmanU and the social media content creator for Furman’s development office.

Sheets is a senior at the University of Akron pursuing her bachelor’s degree in communication with a public relations concentration and a minor in converged media. She will also earn several professional credentials, including certificates in social media and health care sales. At her university, Sheets has served as the vice president of communication for the Panhellenic Council as well as the director of public relations for her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.

Smith is a senior at Bob Jones University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication with a public relations concentration. On campus, he has served as the editor-in-chief of his university newspaper and won a first-place award in feature writing from the South Carolina Press Association. Currently, Smith serves as the president of his university’s chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, a national communication honors society.
